Purchaser, Su Lin bought a 2 bedroom residence at The Marker.
I currently live in West Melbourne a few streets south of The Marker. I’ve lived in a beautiful tree lined street for six years now, and am looking forward to upsizing, while staying in such a vibrant community on the edge of the city.
I love urban and apartment living. Everything is conveniently located at my doorstep. I can walk to work, and have trams, train and buses right around the corner. Apartments are so easy to maintain which leaves even more time to enjoy the area.
The Australian native plant lined buildings and resident garden in the middle of the complex was a major draw card. The 5-star energy rating, coupled with the modern, yet retro New York inspired design, quality fittings and 2.7 metre apartment ceilings topped it off. The spacious well-designed floor plans and north-facing orientation were influential in our decision, as well as being so close to the Aldi which will be just downstairs.
Everything! It’s conveniently located on the city-fringe, without the hustle and bustle of the CBD. It’s close to Coles on Spencer Street, the restaurants in Chinatown and Lygon Street, North Melbourne Primary, University High, University of Melbourne, great shops, and parks.
West Melbourne has seen monumental development in the last decade, and the council approved West Melbourne development plan will see that continue. The area is an eclectic mix of industrial, retail and residential dwellings with residents from wide ranging and diverse backgrounds. Something I really like is that most buildings are less than 10 stories high, which reduces residential density and increases the area’s welcoming feel and liveability.
Everyday is a pretty nice day in West Melbourne. Being so close to Queen Victoria Market and local coffee shops gives city living a strong community feel. I wake up to birds chirping in the small plants on my balcony, before strolling out to meet friends close by or go to work in the CBD. I always feel safe, whether in the day or at night, and enjoy watching the sunset over Docklands from my living room. There’s nothing like sitting in Flagstaff gardens in the evenings with the sun glistening through the trees, and watching the possums come out to play.
We’d been looking on and off for more than a year, and while we’d found dream properties, we were yet to find our dream price. The $25k government rebate for properties being newly constructed made a big difference and was a massive value add. There’s nothing like moving into a brand-new property, and since it’ll be ready in early 2022, we have more time to keep saving too.
The carefully considered aesthetics and tasteful fittings were immediately evident, but of course that’s not enough to get a sale across the line. When we delved deeper into the strong track record of the developers Lechte Corporation and the builders Crema/ Plus Architecture it certainly cemented our expectations around being a high-quality development.
We had a smooth and stress-free purchasing experience with Sarah. She was very professional, friendly, and expertly answered all our questions. The display suite brought the development to life, providing a wonderful taste of our future home. Since we only live a few streets away, we’re excited to see the trio of Marker buildings shoot up as part of West Melbourne’s continued development.
